Based on Prof. Dr. Vittorio Magnago Lampugnani’s master plan, which was adopted in 2001, Novartis created its own team for long-term planning. Vittorio Magnago Lampugnani’s idea of an interdisciplinary collaboration of the main disciplines in the treatment of the Novartis Campus in Basel found ripple in the composition of the Campus Workshop, which Marco Serra had the privilege to lead. The representatives in the workshop were Prof. Dr. Vittorio Magnago Lampugnani for urban design, Peter Walker for landscape architecture, Harald Szeemann & Dr. Jacqueline Burckhardt for art, Andreas Schulz for lighting, and Alan Fletcher & Michael Rock for identity. This group worked on the main campus strategies, the most important part of which was public spaces. The work of the workshop was documented in the Compendium created by Alan Fletcher.
